MUSICON

As a shoot-out project from Scandinavia's biggest music and arts festival, Roskilde Festival, in Denmark, Musicon is described as a living district of Roskilde where culture, shops and associates thrive. The area is developed on an old industrial part of Roskilde and is set up to be the new cultural district in the city.

I find Musicon an interesting development for the progressive and temporal approach to the designing of the area. The development invites and encourages temporary projects in the area and grants permanence to those who are successful. This way the city is growing organically through action with the whole community involved in the planning and direction of the area.
